How a Made-to-Order Dress Is Made in London
My Made for You service is one of my favourite parts of what I do. It means I can create a dress just for you, in the perfect colour and fit, made right here in London. Here's how it works.
What is a made-to-order dress?
A made-to-order dress is made for you after you order it, rather than taken off a rail. You choose the style and colour, and the dress is made to your size with any adjustments we agree. It's ideal for weddings and big occasions, when you want something that feels truly special.
Step 1: Book an appointment
It all starts with a visit to my showroom near Tottenham Hale in North London. Appointments are private, so you'll have my undivided attention. You can book here.
Step 2: Try on and choose your style
We'll try on different styles to find the shape that flatters you most. Popular made-to-order styles include Suzannah and Signature.
Step 3: Choose your colour
This is the fun part. There are over one hundred silk dupion colours to choose from. We'll hold swatches against your face to find the shades that make you glow, and talk about how they'll sit with the wedding colours.
Step 4: Measurements and adjustments
I'll take your measurements and we'll discuss any changes, such as a different length. Bring the shoes and underwear you plan to wear, so we can get the fit just right.
Step 5: Your dress is made in London
Your dress is then made in London using traditional techniques: careful cutting, darts and seams to shape the fabric to the body, and beautiful finishing.
How long does a made-to-order dress take?
I advise allowing six to eight weeks, and I recommend having your finished dress at least six weeks before your event. That gives you breathing space for any final tweaks. For weddings, the earlier you book in, the better, especially in spring and summer.
What if my weight is changing?
