About Me
'When you are comfortable you feel free, when you feel free, you feel confident.'
My mission is and has always been to allow women to discover, embrace and celebrate their bodies by crafting garments that fit like no other. Bringing joy and transformation with a little bit of magic.
'I believe that garments should bring you joy.'
Whilst working as a television costume designer it was very apparent that there was a whole host of women who were being massively under served, un-listened to and quite frankly having their needs misunderstood.
It was 2008 and skinny jeans were everywhere and I wasn't a fan (at all)! I began to dress wearing dresses with sarong skirts inspired by Alfred Shaheen a 1940's designer. The sarongs were very flattering on the tummy. This combined with a faux wrap top and shirring panels to create comfort and fit was a powerful combination and really was magical on a woman's body. Bombshell was born! I am proud to say over 16 years an INCREDIBLE community of woman one by one found Bombshell. All with their own stories. They all had one thing in common - they loved the feeling my designs gave them often collecting them.
Sadly in the Spring of 2024 post covid struggles my world of Bombshells came crashing down.
With the support of very loyal customers and help and love from my quality suppliers I came back. This time as Katya Wildman, having lost the trademark Bombshell sadly to the highest bidder. As the letters, emails and messages poured in, I realised that the trademark word 'Bombshell' was not the heartbeat of the brand. The community energy was and how that manifested in my designs was.
With a new identity and a head and heart full of new designs and ideas I set about launching my new venture. Manufacturing 90% in London and using the best of the best quality materials I am so excited to continue to serve my customers.
Now at 49, I really understand how our bodies change and we need to get to know the new us. I have never felt better and more convinced that my bust lifting, tummy concealing, well thought out and executed designs very much have a place in the market.
'I make good things for good people and believe in quality.'
